MUSICIANS - CECÍLIA GUIDA

Born in Mendoza, Argentina, now naturalized brazilian and living in São Paulo.

Studied in Argentina with her father, Ricardo Guida, Pedro Napolitano, and with Lyerco Spiller. She gradueted there in the Conservatório de Córdoba at 14 and joined the Symphonic Orchestra of her town. Soon after she also joined the Camerata Bariloche, under the direction of Alberto Lysy, wich made tours by Europe and the Americas for nearly a year.

She lived for 14 years in Europe where she studied with Y. Menouhin, Sandor Vegh, Corrado Romano, Berta Volmer and Max Rostal. She graduated from the University of Köln, Germany, with the maximum grades. She received scholarships from the Argentinian Mozarteum, from the University of Köln, from the "Deutscher Akademischer Austasschienst" (DAAD) and the Superior Conservatoire of Genève.

She was member of the firsts violins of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande" (touring with it all over Europe, Far East and the Americas) and concertmaster of Camera Orchestra of Nyon, Switzerland; the Frechen Orchestra, Germany; the ABB orchestra and the Feminine Orchestra of São Paulo, Brazil; the Teatro Nacional de Brasilia Orchestra, Brazil; among others.

Her pedagogical career includes several places: in Germany; in the Brasilia City School of Music; "The string Center Project" of SESI-FUNARTE (in conjonction with the University of Brasilia); the Goiás University; to the Symphonic Orchestra of Curitiba, Paraná; the "Universidade Livre de Música", São Paulo; and the São Paulo City School of Music, where she continues to teach to date.
In 1989, despite an invitation of the University of Cuyo's Rector (Mendoza, Argentina) for the Faculty of Arts, she decides to remain in Brazil.

She gave high interpretation courses in many cities and institutions such as: The Arts Museum of São Paulo; Goiás Secretary of Culture; the International Summer Course of Brasilia, the International Winter Festival of Music of Campos do Jordão; and many others.

She is permanent jury in the national Eldorado Contest.

She played many concerts under the conducting of: Daniel Havens, Jamil Maluf, Cláudio Santoro, Garcia Vigil, Walter Lourenção, Chiyuki Murakata.

Her activities as a soloist as well as chamber player are ininterrupt, in his country an abroad, where she is frequently received with excellent criticism.

She was appointed for the "Oficios Culturais Brasileiros da Quaternário Aliança Francesa"( Brazilian Cultural Artcrafts from the Alliance Française) among the fifty most important artists of his country.
