MUSICIANS - HENRIQUE MÜLLER

Born in São Paulo, studied the violin with Alexandre Schaffman and Lola Benda in that city. 

Lived in Europe for six years where he proceeded his professional training and musical formation in the Superior Conservatoire of Genève with Corrado Romano (violin), A. Vauquet (viola), Pierre Jeandin (harmony and counterpoint ), M. Viala (piano), Doris Rossiaud (chamber music), Arpad Gerez (string quartet), Jaques Guyonet and Robert Cornman ( conducting, analysis and composition), Lionnel Rogg (style and musical form), M. Horneffer (music history) and Acoustics ("Radio de la Suisse Romande"). He received a schorlarship from the São Paulo Secretary of Culture and from the Genève Conservatoire. Returning to Brazil, he was a conducting pupil of Cláudio Santoro. 

At 15 he won the "First Young Instrumentalists from Brazil" contest and the "Five Young Revelations from São Paulo" contest. He was violist substitute of the "Orchestre de la Suisse Romande" and first viola of the "Orchestre du Collegium Academicum de Genève" (with wich he accompanied in its many tours by Europe and the Americas), as well as of the Conservatoire de Genève Orchestra and of the Teatro Nacional de Brasília Orchestra, among others. He was professor in the "Edgar Willems" school, in Nyon, Switzerland; also in the "Centre Artistique de Collonge"; was violist of the "Pedagogical Quintet of the City Hall of Genève"; coordinator and conductor of the "Camerata do Centro de Cordas SESI-FUNARTE", a string center project sponsored by federal and private initiative, including the Brasília University (UnB); was coordinator of the String Instruments Initiation National Meeting (FUNARTE), in Brasília. 

Presently he is a teacher and conductor at the São Paulo City Music School and was former professor at the Brasília City Music School, the "Universidade Livre de Música", in São Paulo. 

In 1989, despite an invitation of the University of Cuyo's Rector (Mendoza, Argentina) for the Faculty of Arts, he decided to remain in Brazil.

He gave high interpretation courses in many cities and institutions, such as: The Arts Museum of São Paulo, The International Winter Music Festival of Campos do Jordão (SP), the Goiás State Secretary of Culture, at the Juvenile Symphonic Orchestra of São Paulo, among many others. 

He was the official conductor of the "Youth Symphony Orchestra" of the São Paulo Municipality (OSJEMM) during 15 years.

His activities as a soloist as well as chamber player and conductor are ininterrupt, in his country and abroad, where he is frequently received with excellent criticism.

He was appointed for the "Ofícios Culturais Brasileiros da Quaternário, Aliança Francesa"( Brazilian Cultural Artcrafts from the Alliance Française) among the fifty most important artist of his country.

Together with Cecília Guida, he is the coordinator of the “Águas de Lindóia Classical Festival”.
