MUSICIANS - PAULO GORI

One of the most important pianist of his generation, Paulo Gori began his career in the 1970s in Europe, after he was awarded in the major international piano competitions Paloma O´Shea (1976, Santander-Spain) and Queen Elisabeth (1978, Brussels-Belgium), during which participated in the recording of a disc for Deutsche Grammophon. 

His performances in Europe have included concerts with orchestras such as the Bach Solisten in Germany and the Belgian National Symphony, among others, as well as recitals and chamber music concerts. 

Recently, he has been engaged in the dissemination of Brazilian music, rescuing some fundamental works played in concert halls such as the Brazilian Fantasies for piano and orchestra of Francisco Mignone, who played alongside the Culture Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Luther Robinson. He was also responsible for the world premiere of the 2nd Sonata for piano-Villani Cortes. 

He was invited by the Music Memory Project - which is responsible for recovery of scores of Brazilian works - played the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra de Souza Lima with the Symphonic Orchestra of St. Andrew and conductor Flavio Florence. The presentation brought this work back to the concert hall after fasting for 26 years. 

He participated as a guest soloist of the String Quartet of the City of Sao Paulo in Theatre Arts Culture Itaim, a recital of French music, performing the Quintet for Piano and Strings by César Franck.  

In very active as a soloist and chamber musician he performed in duo with his former master Gilberto Tinetti at Sala Cecilia Meireles in Rio de Janeiro, as well as the Theatre Artistic Culture in Sao Paulo. Also beside Tinetti and members of OSESP performed the Sonata for 2 Pianos and Percussion by Béla Bartók. 

Released three CDs in partnership with the famous Hungarian violinist-Brazilian Dworecki Perez: "The Song of Our Land" and "Gaiato" this nominee Tim Music Award in 2005, and "Bach & Vivaldi" released in 2007. 

In concert commemorating the 65th anniversary of the OSB - Brazilian Symphony Orchestra - was soloist in the Concerto No. 4 Saint-Saëns at the Teatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro, under the baton of Ira ??Levin. 

He has been dedicated to the project's full implementation of the 24 "Preludes" by Claude Debussy, a work that has presented recitals in the country, as well as the artistic program of the 27th Music Festival of Londrina. 

Versatile artist and owner of vast repertoire covering up modernism, opened with a solo recital performing works of Schoenberg, Webern, Berg and the "Cycle Counterpoints Viennese" of Cecilia Meireles Hall in Rio de Janeiro.
